If you have never tried making cod garam masala recipes, here are some you can experiment with. These recipes are not complex, but make sure your cooking space is sufficient so preparation will be easy.

Cod with Coconut Milk

Ingredients

1½ coconut milk
Coconut cream (50 ml)
1 kg of cod fillet
Sweet Thai basil
Lemon (sliced in half)
Fresh turmeric, minced and peeled
3 garlic cloves, minced
Tomato with chili base
30 ml of fish sauce
5 Scud Chilli’s
Palm sugar
Ginger knob, minced
Sea salt
1 tsp of garlic clove
1 tsp of roasted cinnamon
1 tsp of roasted black peppercorn
1 tsp of ground nutmeg
1 tsp of coriander seed
Brown onion
Tomatoes (vine ripened, diced)
Garam masala
250 ml vegetable oil

Instructions

Put the chili, onions, turmeric, ginger and garlic in a bowl. Flavor it salt. Cook it in low heat for 60 minutes. When the mixture is caramelized, toss in the tomatoes.

Cook for 10 minutes. Take it off the heat. Put it aside. To prepare the garam masala, join all the spices and pound it in a mortar. Add the nutmeg to this mixture. Store the mixture in a container. Get a large pot. Toss in the chilli base, garam masala, palm sugar, coconut milk, tomato and fish sauce.

Continue making this cod garam masala recipe by adding the fish to this pot. Set the heat to below boiling. Put the pot cover on. Cook slowly for 8 minutes.

Do not let the mixture boil. Halfway through the cooking process, flip the cod over. Remove it from the heat. Allow it to rest for five minutes. Add the basil and coconut cream. Spray a bit of lemon juice. Put the lid back on and cook for a few minutes. Serve this with semolina noodles.

Cod with Black Mustard

Ingredients

4 lbs of cod
Ginger
1 tbsp of salt
1 tsp of turmeric
1 tsp of black mustard
1 tsp of brown sugar
½ tsp of garam masala
A bunch of coriander
3 hot chillies
½ cup of vegetable oil
1 chopped tomato
½ cup of lemon juice
2 chopped onions
8 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp of coriander seeds
½ tsp of Fenugreek seeds

Instructions

Wash the cod and dry it. Sprinkle some pepper and salt over it. Set it aside. Preheat the oven to 400 F. Combine half the coriander, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, turmeric, salt, mustard seeds, lemon juice coriander seeds and Fenugreek seeds.

Mix them until they become smooth. Add water if necessary. Fry the onions until they turn brown. Add the garam masala. Cook until the liquid dissipates.

Toss in the tomatoes. Fry for a couple of minutes more. Coat the cod. Put masala over it. Bake it for 25 minutes. Grill for 5 minutes. Top it off with some of the remaining coriander.
